Yes confirmed it is a Powerbox Champion SRS from Powerbox Systems https://www.powerbox-systems.com

There are no gyros in this unit and the programming is set as straight through to servos.

VControl, VBar on all.

Hi Peter,

we have discussed this briefly, yesterday. In fact I can not tell how many channels a VBar can actually pass through via S.BUS, e.g. 8 or 12 or 16, and how.
I was under the impression that (only) the E1xxx channels were the ones (which would mean 8 channels), but Rainer thought it could also be some of the E2xxx channels.
Maybe Uli or Rainer can find out and tell.

The goal with our S.BUS implementation was not a setup like this, but rather a VBar with one or two extenders, for power distribution, servo ports and receiver redundancy.
S.BUS, in our case, was rather meant to allow controlling a subsequent flight control or flybarless (if that makes any sense), or to allow controlling another n (8?) BUS type servos, which are themselves programmed to listen to the respective channels.
Dosen't mean it's not possible, but there may be limitations, and it might be less simple than expected.

So it could be necessary to do all the setup and macrocell things inside the NEO, and then use the last cell in the chain as an input for the EXyyy cell.

Like CH2 is the left aileron, servo 1, you mirror it to e.g. MC30 for a left aileron servo 2, if it was that, select input CH2 there, type channel (to adjust center, limits, direction) or type curve (same, but to also linearize), then you would use CH2 as the input for one S.BUS channel, and MC30 as the input for the second.

But that's only one part of the problem, the other—I believe—is still that the control surfaces don't re-center?

It is 16 channels as per description:

Ulrich did a review on the S.Bus protocol here - and as we have the original Futaba Spec - it is implemented 100% according to the spec here.

So - the question is now:

Does a servo connected to a socket on the VBar with the same mixers behind show the same effect or does it seem normally?

Hi Rainer

With servos connected to Vbar Neo ports and wingmixer plus macrocells works as normal as one would expect.

Now enable SBus output to Powerbox and connect servos at powerbox, they will only work if Exxx cells were programmed, wingmixer have zero effect on them. I have tried the suggestion of creating a channel cell at each flight control and use that for driving the Exxx cells. On the bench it seems to work and wingmixer settings are in play. Gyro compensation in bank 2 and 3 also works, flap compensation to elevator does not work.

The problem is that while in the wingmixer to make adjustments the servos do not respond as the macrocells are not in use so one has to first plug one aileron, one elevator and rudder servo into the Neo itself, do the adjustments in the wingmixer and then plug the servos back into the Powerbox to see results of the macrocell programming. Then program the other aileron servo (two aileron, flaps and single elevator model chosen) and second elevator servo via the macrocells.

This seems to be the only way to get the Vplane system working with SBus output. No flight test has been done.

Work in progress...... LOL

VControl, VBar on all.

Hello,

Edward will get back to you by email on Monday as we could try something.
