Apple MAC and VStabi

VStabi for MAC

The VBar-Software is running on recent Apple Macintosh Computers, too. You find the download links on the VBar-Homepage. By default, the latest software (corresponding to the latest PC-Software) is available.

The following versions of OS X have been tested: Mac OS X 10.4.11-10.6.4 on MacBook Pro (that's where the serial driver library has been developed on) and iMac 24“.

10.3 might work, 10.2 on G4 Macs doesn't, sorry. We appreciate any further info on what works and what doesn't.

The installation is typically Mac – unzip and open the DMG volume, then copy the VBar-Folder to your /Applications directory. That's it.

There you find some apps brandishing the red V.

VStabi – the regular App for use with Express and Standard software
VStabi Bluetooth – the App for use with a Bluetooth module to connect to your VBar
VStabi Simulation – the App for playing around with the software without having a device connected

... and the latest VStabi USB Driver – a driver that will connect to ANY VBar, no matter how it's set up.
Those who install it for the first time won't have to do anything but install it.
Those who already have an older version will possibly have to make a safe system start once, to clear the driver caches.
This driver can be used with v4, too!

Bluetooth

Simple. At first, you will have to connect VBar using a cable connection (disconnect the BT-module while doing so, only one interface to VBar at a time!). Now set the PIN for your BT-module (e. g. a 4 digit number "1234"). With Express Software, the PIN is set to 1111 by default and can not be changed.

Turn off VBar, remove the cable, connect the BT module, power on again: VBar writes the PIN to the BT-module.

Pair the device using System Preferences / Bluetooth.

Use the blue "Connector"-Button to select the module in VBar – that's it :o)
