I keep checking in here from time to time. That is good news, thank you.by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
I now have that information. What isn't so clear though is the amount of headroom. This is not so intuitive as it was when we could decide on the ESC throttle value based on our flying style, expected voltage dip and final pack voltage at the end of the flight. As an example I have been able to use the v-bar governor quite happily with a 14 tooth pinion. I cannot get to the head speed wiby Andy from Sandy - Café
Quote:afaik most ESCs do that, to preserve some headroom for governing the head speed. Hi Eddi, Which others? In the past using Kontronik governor I would be instructed to not set a throttle / ESC value greater than 85% to leave headroom. On spool up the achievable head speed is noted. This is the figure then used throughout the flight. However the ESC would allow me to set a higher ESC valueby Andy from Sandy - Café
I increased the value from 100 to 120 maximum for high value. It made no change to head speed. I have to conclude though with the ESC programmed for gov with reclac values in the scorpion app it somehow limits the maximum achievable head speed. If in the scorpion app I select external governor then once again I can get the highest head speed. It appears the Scorpion governor is limiting theby Andy from Sandy - Café
I have been using the V-Bar governor driving a Tribunus ESC 06-120 on my Logo 550 with 14 tooth pinion and 1100Kv motor. With the V-Bar governor it easily achieves the 2000 head speed that I want to run at Doing simple maths with no regard for efficiency suggests with a pack voltage of 24V I could get to 2400 so plenty of head room I think. I set a fictitiously high head speed and could actby Andy from Sandy - Café
Thanks Eddi, that works.by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
Has this been asked for already? I have changed the collective add and cyclic add values and it appears I have copied the values to all banks so now I do not know what the initial default values were when the new model was created. I assume those values are in the setup wizard for a new model and could be recalled? Is it possible to add a feature in certain menus to recall the default vaby Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
Are you looking to add an altitude sensor please?by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
NMEA messages that is used to transmit GPS data from the satellites to the receiver does contain altitude information. You just need to decode the correct "sentence" and have at least 4 satellites in view. I think a dedicated altimeter uses barometric pressure. There is various vario/altimeter sensors available.by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
What options do we have for altitude please? I quite like the idea of knowing how high my glider is soaring.by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control

When I set Transmitter Setup | USB Mode = Sim the display shows auto off progress bar. This is with Application Setup | Switchoff Timeout = 1:00. If I increase time to 1:30 or more auto off is not displayed.by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control

I was just wondering if there could be some conceivable way to downgrade an existing NEO to express and move the pro or pro+rescue upgrade to a new NEO?by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
Quote:The problem is also when i start it up and have no screen it is difficult to put the VBC off.... I set the auto off timer to 2 minutes and let my VBC turn itself off now.by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
Thank you, I got your email. Just to confirm do I need to load VPlane Professional app that costs 35Euro to use NEO on the glider? EDIT: Worked it out and got VPlane loaded.by Andy from Sandy - VPlane/VBasic VLink
Hi Rainer You produced a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Cc2qT82xK8 but I cannot find the place where now. I am looking to get a sailplane that would require that kind of configuration so thank you for saving a lot of time. I have not used macrocells as I am at present only flying V-Bar. Could the throttle be moved to one of the pots? How much of the configuration can be placed oby Andy from Sandy - VPlane/VBasic VLink

I followed the FAQ but what I found is the orientation of the wires in the 4 way plug is 180 degrees out for the 3 way plugs. Not a problem as the wire is flexible but not the best either. https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=704573 It might be easier to get the Mikado made cable as it uses a 6 way block and is then made properly. http://shop.mikado-heli.de/VBar-Electronics/VBar-Contby Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
Kevin it is strange that your request seems to be misinterpreted. Even on a nitro with loud models around me I could not hear that the engine had gone to idle. Having talking telemetry is almost there with this feature but instead of a switch a parameter to initiate telling the user the head speed.by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control

I was playing with the different settings in the tail rotor expert menu... When I set I Limit or I Discharge to 1 or 2 the tail seemingly stopped working. When moving the model from side to side the tail gyro barely made an effort to respond with opposite rudder and moving the rudder control on the VBC moved the rudder the tiniest of amounts. I first discovered that something was wrong wby Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
Hi Eddi Powering up with a battery worked fast as it does with my other battery powered NEO. It must be as you state about the BEC in my ESC. Thank you.by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
The unit is back from service and tested it over the week end in a t-rex 470. On first power up it took several seconds to initialise so I powered off and on again. The second power up was much quicker. With the model on the ground I walked a good distance from it with full control and a good signal showing in the status display. The model flies fine and in precision init mode all is welby Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
I changed the initialization to standard but it made no difference. I found a post about being a micro mechanical device so I tapped the NEO unit and now it initializes in precision mode. Shouldl I still RMA the unit? serial number is 20005638 running 6.3by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
Well it lasted all of 7 flights for a total of approximately 56 minutes of flying. IMU Sensor fail! The NEO I have fitted is from my T-Rex 450 that has around 50 flights on it. I would think I am well past infant mortality time. I am not the first to have IMU failure but for this unit to now fail is quite poor to be polite. I have seen users suggest downgrading to pro but then what ofby Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
Thank you for the picture. I bought the NEO July 2015. It didn't see a lot of action in 2015 or 2016 as I was flying mainly electric. Since the beginning of this year it has been in the air for approximately 29 1/2 hours. I am just finalising the placement of the antennas and then I will be ready to go again at the weekend.by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
I will change to a neo with vlink. You don't happen to have a picture or can you explain how you mounted the neo and placed the antennas please?by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
High Eddi, Perhaps you have not read the whole thread? This is the second satellite I have fitted to this model and the second cable is supplied by yourselves. The first cable I made NEO end up myself. I don't know how many flights the first satellite performed in but it was first connected to a Silverline and then the NEO now in the model. The second satellite has been in service for 15by Andy from Sandy - Questions VBar Control
Nitro T-Rex 600 with fibreglass canopy. The model was approximately 30 metres from me. The model was to my left and I was turning the model doing figure 8s so the model was banking round in a right hand turn. I think the model was still banked over but the turn was almost complete.
