How to correct an accidental Vplane auto trim while on the ground?
December 20, 2023 02:58PM
Hello,

If I accidentally activate my Vplane auto trim switch at the bench or while ground taxing. Should I then open up the auto-trim menu to check that all axis are at zero before flight? If each axis isn't at zero, I assume I can simply reset each axis to zero manually prior to take off, correct?

Thank You,
Raz

Hi Raz,

you see on the control surfaces what auto trim did, slight deflections. You can always dial it back to zero, or so the control surfaces are flush with the wing/rudder profiles, no problem.

Some even take off with auto trim enabled (at least some who hand-launch their models have reported that).
I always only used it in a stable flight attitude, though.

Kind regards
