I’m trying to find if this motor will work. I know you need to change some things around but I cannot find the thread. Can someone please provide the link so I can refer to it?

Hi,

even google does not spit out something useful, if I search only vstabi.info (google site:vstabi.info keyword(s)), but I'd guess, with the diameter of the bell, you'd probably need to go for the bigger main gear from the 800 XX (and corresponding pinion).

I'm not sure if you can just cut the frames a bit, without weakening them too much.

Maybe someone else has more input ...

Kind regards

Hi,

the Pyro 800 wont fit cause of the 8mm shaft. You can mill it down by yourself to 6mm but thats not the best option.
Use the Scorpion and you will be fine smiling smiley

Kontronik is not planning to make a 6mm shaft for Pyros bigger than the 750.

Pascal

Hi Pascal,

XXtreme main gear, old pinions? Thought they were 8 mm ...

Will look weird, though, the considerably slimmer silhouette with the side plate-size main gear grinning smiley

Hi Eddi,

this could work, yes. But as you said it maybe look a bit weird.

@spencerkey: If you want it simple - Use the Scorpion. If you want to use the Pyro: 8mm pinion and maingear would be the best.

Pascal

You will be fine, even If you want to run 12S!

So is the Scorpion motor a 6mm shaft?

Edit; it is a 6mm shaft.
