Altimeter

What options do we have for altitude please?

I quite like the idea of knowing how high my glider is soaring.

I have the GPS sensor, Would be nice to get altitude aswel.

NMEA messages that is used to transmit GPS data from the satellites to the receiver does contain altitude information. You just need to decode the correct "sentence" and have at least 4 satellites in view.

I think a dedicated altimeter uses barometric pressure. There is various vario/altimeter sensors available.

Vario meter will also be great for gliders

Yes, very good news. Any time frame ?

We have a date when this will be available ? I would rather use this in my system than a third party version with brings other issues at hand.
