5% or 3% battery capacity announcement?

5% or 3% battery capacity announcement?

I like how the VBC radio announces battery capacity remaining in 10% intervals. However, I have trouble estimating the last 3% to 5% capacity remaining. I would like to learn when I have only 3% or 5% battery capacity left, so I can prepare my landing routine more efficiently. Would it be possible to add a 3% or 5% battery capacity remaining option?

Just dial in a bit less "to fly" - and start the landing at 0% ;-)

e.g. instead 70% to fly use 67%.

Thank you for the response. I appreciate the suggestion of "fooling" the system by decreasing the battery capacity percentage, but I was hoping for a more elegant solution. Thank you.

Be careful to use the battery to such fine limits. The capacity usually fluctuates due to mutiple influences like temperature, charge and discharge current and storage times. So the real capacity varies +-10% or more.
You can set the discharge limit to say 35% of the rated capacity, and start the landing routine at 0% announcment.

I generally like to land with batteries at 3.74V/cell. I am able to customize my Jeti radios, so that I can get an announcement at 100 mah prior to 80% capacity depletion. This gives me plenty of time to take the helicopter up high for an autorotation. I generally fly my current batteries to ~3200mah capacity consumption. This means each 10% increment announcement on the VBC radio is roughly 320 mah capacity consumed. A 3% announcement would be 96 mah capacity left which is roughly the 100 mah capacity announcement that works very well with Jeti. I was hoping I would be able elevate my enjoyment experience with VBC similarly to what I enjoy with Jeti without "hacks" or compromises.

Flying RC Helis should be a lot of fun - and not a matter of counting single mAh eye rolling smiley

Sorry - jm2c...

Peace smileys with beer
