Will an upgrade be available for current kits? Will the current 480 parts fit the new frames?

I hope there will be an upgrade path. Then again if it's a rebuild anyway I might buy an airframe only kit and swap everything over.

to early to say, but usually, at Mikado, many parts are compatible between models or evolution steps.

Does it make sense to kit a larger diameter boom possibility?

I've just replaced my 550sx boom to the 25mm cut down to 550 length and love the size of it. I must be too used to the 600 looks I suppose.
Maybe use the stock 550 diameter boom in the 480?

hart to tell, yet, but maybe-hopefully by the end of the year. There are a couple of projects competing, depends what happens when, which one gets priority.
Could also be earlier, but I don't want to create expectations we can not fulfill in a timely manner

If you saw my other thread where I used my 550 boom and tail with the 523 main blades. Please consider the larger boom and tail. The tail becomes extremely solid with this setup.

My 480XX has 505mm blades, stretched with a 592XL belt and a slightly shortened Logo 500 boom. This is the biggest size I can fly on a single 6s pack without shutting down the Jive Pro 120. Any bigger and I would need to consider 8s or more.

we're coming a bit OT here, but well ...

You can definitely look forward to it. From pilots who have also flown the O2 or similar sized models, I heard that especially the tail makes a huge difference.
It's just how it's supposed to be, goes where you want it to go, stops and stays there, very consistent in both directions even though it's only a motor driven tail.

I have no comparison myself with that regard, but I also find it's just how it's supposed to be, especially compared to other small helis I've flown over the years.

The cyclics and collective are as good as they come, and with anti gravity of VBar NEO 6.4, it feels like a grown-up heli, almost without the effects of micros, where collective management can be considerably different, especially if doing aerobatics or 3D.

Just fascinating can't wait for it myself!

Pricing, it's not yet decided, but the EUR retail price including 19 % VAT will very likely have a 5 as the first digit, and then some.

It's supposed to come bind and fly, so you would just have to charge the included 3s battery, bind it to your VBar Control, and take it for a spin, with three preset banks easy, medium, crazy.

It is sounding better and better each time

I'll be getting one for sure, but I suspect we will still be in lockdown when it ships so won't have much chance to fly as my garden isn't very big.
