I have purchase 5 used vbars (silver and blue) I'm attempting to relearn how to transfer these and get them connected to my pc. If I recall correctly I am required to run the recovery software with the USB connected to the vbar to get it to connect to the software. When I go to the drop down menu to select the firmware upload menu item the program just closes. Vbar connected or not, it doesnt take me to a menu to select my file. It just terminates the program. don't recall ever having this problem before. Any ideas what is happening with the software? I've re downloaded it a couple times now and it's running on windows 10.
update- was able to get 5.3 software running on my wifes computer so problem must be within my own computer
