I have older 5.3 Vbar upgraded to 6.0 for use with VControl. I can export model settings file from VControl onto my PC but can't load it for reading in both the Neo and older 5.3 PC/Mac versions on my computer. Is there a way to view the model settings file on a computer?by prokyon - Questions V5
Thanks! Yeah, I don't notice any problems with the head speed - it's steady. I had similar problem before with another ESC and in that case it was a faulty ESC as the head speed kept dropping along with the glitches in the logs. I'm actually using VControl after upgrading mini VBar 5.3 to newer 6.0 firmware - is there a throttle curve that VControl is using as the default? What happens in thisby prokyon - Questions V5
As the title says I noticed I'm getting the dreaded "governor input contains glitches" errors in my vbar log with Hobbywing 160A V4 ESC. I tested the motor for insulation and it passes and there are no motor wires exposed or touching anywhere. This only happens when I'm pushing the ESC to around over 120A - I attached logs and UI sensor logs - you can see that whenever I start to get ESby prokyon - Questions V5
Thank you - how about adjusting the travel endpoints in the tail rotor setup menu? Old VBar 5.3 was able to go to 140 on the left and right, but with VControl I can only do 120 now. Is there no way to run 140 with VControl?by prokyon - Café
Hello - I'm running older 5.3 VBar mini with VControl satellite. In the tail setup menu, older 5.3 software went to 140 points - with VControl it only goes to 120. I have a Synergy E7se and with old 5.3 my tail values were something like 126 and 128 on the left and right - I cannot make the tail servo control arm any longer, or else the tail pitch rod will hit the frame. I installed the oveby prokyon - Café
Thank you - this makes sense. I don’t have any NEO VBars, so the download link doesn’t produce anything for me, i.e. it’s not an issue with a pop up blocker. Do you plan to support legacy VBars in the 6.x PC software in the future? I find it convenient to use PC software to review the settings and this also cuts down the setup time during initial setup.by prokyon - Questions V5
Ah, sorry - I realized that I need the keyfile just like for NEO - but when I click the link to download the keyfile nothing happens. I just get taken to a link: http://www.vstabi.info/node/XXXX?keyfile=true&Id=YYYY where XXXX and YYYY are my unique IDs, but nothing downloads to my Mac.by prokyon - Questions V5
I have successfully upgraded mini blue VBar 5.3 to 6.0, bound to VControl radio using VControl satellite and loaded new heli setup wizard through VControl radio. Everything is great, except I'm still used to PC / Mac software. So I tried connecting NEO software to upgraded VBar and I can't connect - I see the USB icon in green, but then there is an icon in red saying "no Connection" rigby prokyon - Questions V5
What existing ESCs can talk back to VControl so that I do _not_ need to wire up an external capacity sensor, as outlined in the following link? http://www.vstabi.info/en/node/1695 I took a look on your website and haven't found a list of ESCs which support your protocol. Thanks!by prokyon - Café
New Hobbywing V4 ESCs output various information, such as internal temperature, current draw and capacity. There is a thread on wiring up capacity with JLog and Spektrum DX9 / Jeti here: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=755318 Are there any plans for VControl to read what Hobbywing V4 ESCs are supporting? I can help with any software development if needed - very interested! This woulby prokyon - Café
Update: the ESC was faulty - motor is fine. I couldn't get the motor to short with 1000V test on the bench and in the heli, then tried running up the ESC on the bench and moving all the wires - still nothing, would only short and lose power when applying a lot of load to the motor. So I called MikadoUSA, Ron there was of big help and concluded the same thing - must be the ESC. Went across tby prokyon - Questions V5
Yes, wiring 1000V to 12S-rated ESC is probably not a good idea LOL Are there any particular motors and pinions you could recommend for the 690SX? How's XNova 4035 with 14T pinion?by prokyon - Questions V5
Hello, I have a lot of governor input contains glitches error messages in my VBar log: I bench-tested the motor with 1000V insulation tester - it passes. I tested the motor after mounting in the heli - passed too (before connecting the ESC). Running up without blades to 1800 and 2000 RPM is fine too - no errors in the VBar log. When I go flying, as soon as I punch the collective I get errors iby prokyon - Questions V5
Does anyone have Kyle Dahl's or their own vbar gain numbers and other settings for Logo 690 SX? I couldn't find anything after searching online - screenshots would be nice, I'm running blue mini vbar 5.3 - thanks! I have the V2 version, which probably does not matter (same head, tail and frame).by prokyon - Logo 200/400/500/600 Questions
See the attached picture - it was a defective motor. Poor insulation, probably a winding mistake at the factory. I replaced the motor with XNova 4020 1000kV - no more problems with the VBar governor. Problem solved!by prokyon - Questions V5
Nope, the issue is still there. In a hover at 2250 RPM HS, the more I punch the collective, the more the BEC voltage drops. So basically when the current to the motor from the ESC spikes all sorts of crazy starts to happen. I think it's the motor, but could also be the faulty ESC. I don't really feel like buying a new ESC and motor, so... is there another way to trouble shoot this?by prokyon - Questions V5
Thanks, I watched the video and tested the motor for continuity, it's good. I don't have the tool to test for insulation (running 1000V through the motor). I noticed that the motor connectors which plug into the ESC had a bit of insulation around them missing, so it's possible that in flight under high loads I have sparks jumping the wires and possibly to the carbon fiber frame. I doubt it, buby prokyon - Questions V5
I'd say it's the motor. How do I test for defective motor insulation under high load? I bench-tested the crap out of the servos and BEC - wiggled the collective and cyclic until my hands were sore. No drops in voltage. But I get massive power sags when I initially punch-out from a hover.by prokyon - Questions V5
I have the following setup: - HobbyWing 100A V3 ESC (with BEC, two leads to power VBar) - Mikado mini VBar 5.3 - Gaui GM-601 motor (16T pinion) - XPert servos (4501 and 2201 HV) at 8.4V I see "governor input contains glitches" errors in the VBar log and the motor makes weird noises when the heli is flying, almost like governor is overspeeding the motor, but the gain is at 26 in bby prokyon - Questions V5
