Setup on 7.1.158
May 27, 2026 01:11PM
Hello,

I have a V-Bar Control Evo and a V-Bar Evo Flybarless Unit. However, I am still on firmware version 7.1.158 for the Control Evo.

I know there is a specific Stratos 200 profile in 8.2, but I wanted to know if it is still possible to set up the Stratos 200 on 7.1.158 with the same settings?

Thank you.

We use new drive modes for the Stratos ESCs which are only available in V8. We have not tested other versions, and do not recommend it. Whats the reason you dont want to update? It´s free...

Hi,

I had a look, there's one VBar EVO VLink registered to your account, and it has Pro+Rescue.
So it automatically also has V8 Pro+Rescue.

Just select at vstabi.info/devices and update using your VBar Control EVO ... like Uli said, it's free ^^

I understand, but the control loop for the cyclic is different, and a friend of mine said that it feels different. And I am used to the feel of it now, so I did not want to update.

Edit: Maybe I am misunderstanding. Will the V-Bar Neos still fly the same on 8.2? Does the control loop changes affect only the V-Bar Evos?

Thanks.

8.2 is for EVO only.

But - if the 8.2 ist set up as "Sport Fyling" the difference in feel is minimal and can be adjusted further. If you can describe how you like the feel in which situation we can assit you to find the right parameters to adjust.

Hi again,

I'd give it a try. Save the current setup on my transmitter, update, load the preset and try it as it is, starting with bank 1, or start with Sport Flying for example, always a good starting point if you already feel confident around helicopters, and nothing bad will happen.

Different is a subjective perception, you never know if it's better or similar or worse for you, until you tried, and until you gave it some time to adapt a bit.

We'd still be riding horses or carriages (or pulling sledges or carts ...) if no one had tried the different feel of innovation ^^

If it is not for you, you can always go back to 7.x and load your saved setup again, and everything will be back to what you're used to.
