Kosmik - Bidirectional Control

I apologize in advance if this has been covered and I didn't find it when searching...

New Kosmik 210 HV-I with VBar Evo and VControl Touch (non-Evo)

I have the cable connected from the Kosmik to VBar Evo Tele input and have the readings from the Kosmik, but the inputs shown here are greyed out...

https://www.vstabi.info/en/node/2394

Is there something I am missing?

Also... I had to reset the motor poles about ten times before it finally "accepted" it. With 25% input, it would try to go beyond 2500rpm headspeed, when it should have been lower than 1500rpm. The values are exactly as initially entered, but for some reason it works now.

Final issue.. there is zero headspeed (aka ESC has no output) until throttle position is above 30% output. Very weird... I never had this behavior with the original VControl Classic.

Best,

Could you provide your screenshots of the issue with the greyed items?

Are you probably close to the model (too close isn't best for telemetry from model to radio) or didn't wait some time?

Reason: K gives me the number of values which will be available. I will enable the menues only as soon as this matches with my count. If thsi doesn't match - they will be enebled after 30seconds, but probably not fullfilled until then bein lack of data from K.

About HS - this is normal and as per ESC manual. 0%=off, 25%=bailout ready - so flight must be more than 25% ;-)

I will get a picture of it and upload tomorrow.

Maybe the functionality isn't there yet. With the Kolibri, I can adjust all of the parameters from the VControl, but with the Kosmik none of those options are available. It was my understanding that both ESC's had that functionality. It seems to be 'Read Only' from the Kosmik.

Hi Ryan,

long time no see smiling smiley

Read-only is afaik only with ESCs which have external TelMe.
The ones with built-in telemetry interface (and corresponding/current firmware) are supposed to be (...) bi-directional.

But it's as simple as Rainer says: to be able to allow adjustments, we need to know the parameters and their current values, so we need to wait for the ESC to regurgitate grinning smiley it's current values, so we can display them and finally un-grey the menu items.
Else the not-so-patient user would make changes while the ESC is far from ready to accept changes.

Is there any other telemetry connected at the same time? If in doubt, connect the ESC only, for a test.

I'm also not sure if it maybe necessary, or if it might help, to toggle telemetry modes on the ESC, or maybe even to reset it completely (mode 1, then mode 4 again, for instance).

Now the big but: your VBar Control Touch seems not to have been updated for like aeons, as long as three years or thereabouts could be possible.
So I'd say, all stop until it has been updated, and then ... let's talk again winking smiley
