Hi,
technically, all three sensor elements (their axis) must be parallel to the respective axis on the model, so they see no interaction.
If at an angle, a yaw rotation would also cause readings on the elevator and aileron sensor(s), for example.
In real life, it's not that important. I recall we tried offsets of as much as 20°, and the VBar was still able to safely control the model.
If you want it perfect, measure your angles and align properly.
But as little as +/– 1° would very likely not be perceptible in flight.
