Hi guys
In which scenario is recommended to use an additional capacitor in combination with the Mikado Power Backup or you should always use one?

There is only one scenario ... having servos with really bad reverse current you can add a 4700uf directly in addition.

But - consider you are curing a effect, not the reason here - so better don't use such servos.

Hi Rainer and thank you for your answer.
That’s exactly what i think. Because power backup already is and acts as capacitor correct?
Just this FB post is quite interesting. I understand that some esc makers want you to install capacitors to the system and even supply one. But since using power backup already isn’t bit unnecessary? Besides it will occupy additional port on a receiver. What do you think? Thank you Radek

Hi,

Power Backup is designed with the purpose to provide emergency power in case the main r/c power supply fails, and to support a weak main power supply with its buffer's juice.
To a certain extent, it also buffers reverse voltages.

But a simple capacitor connected directly to the power rail does that, real time.

So like Alex said in his post, AND is key if you want both.

Oh, and Power Backup doesn't actually occupy a port, you can always connect something else to it's own pass-through servo connector.

Best,
