Control Issues

I have noticed a slight problem with my vbar touch and evo on my Align 300x today. For whatever reason the collective had changed themselves from -2,+6,+8 to -19,+10,+17. No idea why. Fun landing, not!. Tried to set up again to -2,+6,+8 but no sooner had I set things, saved and switched off, switched back on the setting vary between -1.5 & 2.4, +4 & 6.6, +7.6 & 9.5. Any ideas would be gratefully received

That sounds like the rotor shaft or the head on the shaft is moving a bit.

Hi,

first issue: did you maybe make changes to the Model Setup, Collective min/max?
This would straighten out existing collective curves, between said end points.
Goes for changes on VBar Control as well as when using the computer software along with it.

Second issue: in which situation did you measure, and how/where (e.g. always above the tail boom, or all around?
I think measuring on such a small heli can be tricky to begin with, not the precisest servos and mechanics, and more flexible.

I have posted this on the wrong part of the forum it should be on the control touch
I always setup my helis over the tail boom
When I had completed the setup I have rest the collective pitch and then set the min/max to -10/+10 then set the pitch to -2/+6/+8. came out of setup and checked settings had changed to -1.4/+4/+9.9. Reset everything and tested again another different set of numbers.
I have then set the min/max to -4/+10 and the setup the pitch to -2/+6/+8. came out of it and checked -2.3/+5.5/+7. switched off and back on and tried to lift the heli and wouldn't take off. Whilst on collective pitch screen. I adjusted the pitch so that the heli would hover. I increased the pitch until I could hover and checked and instead of centre stick it was reading about 80%. Landed and checked the pitch at 80% it read 6.6 where it had been setup for that at centre stick.
Busy this week so cannot check again until the weekend.

Could you please tell us if in trim teh horns are rectangled and the swash is still levelled and the blades at zero collective?

I would also go with Ulrich and check the main shaft - on some helis you could miss the hole in there for the jesus bolt and mount it above the upper shaft end ...

The bolt is in the correct place and the heli has flown before about two weeks ago and everything was OK. Yesterday's flight was very erratic that's why I checked. Everything is at right angles, level and zero pitch. It is when I put flying settings that that they keep changing. This weekend I shall delete the model and start the setup again.
