VBCT Evo display

Hi, today i was at the field, i went to turn on my VBC EVO and the display is almost black, the touch screen is working but the screen is almost black. If I point a flashlight I can see a little, and if I vary the brightness it doesn't change at all, what could have happened?

It seems the Backlight is broken. Open the Radio and check if the connector for the Backlight is fully seated. Remove and reconnect. The Connector is on the far lower left corner of the mainboard.
If this dosent fix it, it has to go to the service.

One above. The disconnected one is the vibration Motor.

Hi Uli, i reconnected as you said and the issue still there.
I measured the voltage of that connector and is on 23.45 volts, compared it to my VBC touch (non EVO) is on 17.45 volts
that voltage is normal?

The Voltage shows, that the Display´s LED are not connected. The Converter runs, but has no load. So it is definitly a Display issue, that needs Service intervention.

Hi Uli,

to clarify: display issue, as in, replace the display, all good, or do you suspect the mainboard?

My money's on the display, but I could be wrong.

Reason I'm asking is, I'd like to decide what to ship one or two times half around the world, because of costs and lead times.

@Mariano: please open a service ticket at vstabi.info/devices, and we will take it from there.

Kind regards

Clearly Display. He measured around 24V at the Connector, which is exactly what the Converter should deliver if no load is connectd. So the Mainboard looks fine. Probably a defective LED in the Display or a broken Wire.

Hi,

Peter from Mikado USA sent an e-mail yesterday, display, urgent ... so now I'm confused smiling smiley

As far as I know, the boss will attend Global 3D, one day, so he could bring a display.
I can see that you have another transmitter registered, so you're not grounded, right?

And I mean, if you prefer your EVO over your Touch, you could even swap displays between the two (very carefully, it's the only one you have winking smiley.

I'm not sure if sending one directly to Argentina would reach you, within a reasonable time frame.

Kind regards

Hi eddi!
I talked to bryan from MikadoUSA to see if they have some spare display to fix it quickly and not bother too much, but i didn’t comment to him that i have as i second radio a touch or even any of my friends here could borrow me theirs to compete, so no urgency for now..
I prefer to use the touch instead of switching the displays so if Ralf can take a display there i can put it on the EVO when i come back home.

I'll tell mikadousa about this if it's okay for you.

Thank you very much smiling smiley
