Control Rate Setup HELP

Hello,

I'm new to Vplane, but I'm not new to fixed wing control rate setup. From experience, I've always setup my fixed wing models by maximizing control resolution using proper control rod geometry and end-points as a first step to produce maximum control angle for high rate throws. I've also noticed maximum end-point travel is 120/120 in vPlane.

As an example, I was able to achieve maximum elevator throw at 45 degrees up and 45 degrees down via the edit model menu. I then set my agility to 100 in bank 3 which provides 45 up and 45 down. However, when I lower agility for bank 1 and 2 for lower rates, I'm noticing throws aren't the same angle for up and down. For bank 1, it gives me 10.5 up and 9.5 down. For bank 2, it give me 25.5 up and 22.5 down. How do I adjust for equal travel both up and down for banks 1 and 2?

Also, would it be wrong to activate the Elevator Mix Reverse for proper control direction? I've also noticed this mix allows up to 120/120.

Could there be way to increase agility to 120/120 versus the default 100/100?

One thing - did you measure this in the setup or in the flight mode? - Consider in flight are control loops active who may misslead you here.

Also - the control loop will do some work here in flight to to keep the rates equal.

i can't follow you. at which point goes which thing in the wrong direction?

100 represents the max limit here, so i don't know if it makes sense. Just need to ask Ulrich.

Hey Rainer,

I setup maximum throw (45up/45down) in setup. It seems I'll never be able to accurately measure for a low or mid rate on the bench or ever as adjustment can only be done per flight mode with an active control loop. Is that what you're telling me?

With regard to Elevator Mix. My servo arm was moving in the wrong direction so I activated reverse in Elevator setup. Could this pose a problem when I want to activate an Aileron to Elevator Mix?

About the rates/deflection - yes. Just give it a try in flight and re-ajust in case of needed a bit.

If you enable the ail to elev mix - the direction can be set with the presign of the mixing amount seperately ;-)

Quick question, before I set things up. I did try reversing the presigns for output min/max (end-points). For example, I changed the default -100/+100 to +100/-100. After doing so, the servo goes dead. Meaning, when I apply stick input the servo does nothing after the change. Why is this?
