mini vbar auxilary channel

I have recently bought 2 minis with software second hand to install in 2 gasoline powered airplanes. I realized soon after I started setting them up that I am probably going to be extremely limited on the capabilities. I realize there is no way to install a flap servo and now I'm realizing there is no auxiliary to install a optical kill switch which I insist on using. I just want to verify my situation and verify there is no hidden auxiliary function built into these units.

At AUX1 the 2 remaining signals (consider it has 3 signal pins there) can be used ...

can you further explain what you are talking about? I don't see an aux 1 port on my mini. and I don't know how you would get 2 or 3 remaining signals. are we talking about ports rxa and rxb? I thought these were only spots for satelites or power input. I plan on running receiver power from the rxc port from what I've read.

Hi,

RXA not AUX1, a typo I guess.

RXA, on a Mini VBar, is a three signal port, no power.

So you can connect e.g. a servo in a way so you 'steal' power from a free connector or using a y-harness, and connect only the signal wire of the servo to RXA (middle or lower pin, the upper one is RPM signal input).

Then, you can use the macrocells as described above.

ok now I'm getting the picture of what is going on.

1)splice connector on the kill switch (red/black) and (white)

2)the signal wire (white) of my optical kill switch will attach to either the center or lower pin of rxa port (elevator or rudder channel)

3) power leads (red/black) of optical switch fed into a nearby servo output using a y harness

4) under PRO AUX app I will then configure elevator or rudder signal channel (whichever used) from rxa pin to a switch.

if all sounds good I will attempt this procedure this evening!

just finished setting it up. my auxiliary switch works flawlessly! thanks for the assistance. I learned something new today!
