Vpane Autotrim

Hello,
Can you tell me exactly how to use the autotrim function. I'm insure if i should let go of the sticks and enable autotrim or should i fly it straight and enable autotrim

Fly straight, approx. half speed, align the model, release sticks, enable trim with switch.
