OK, I've got a new V6 Mini Vbar on the way to try out VPlane.

Do I register this first and, if so, how do I do this? All my other VBars were registered a while ago and I've forgotten how.

I then assume I have to run the recovery software to return the device to a base state then use the PC USB link to update the firmware to V6 VPlane.

Preconditions are:

- 5.3 PC Software installed (used for update)
- VBar Control registered to Mikado Account
- VBar registered too

- enable VPLane App and update VBC
- self-enable the VPlane as you did the V6 or VSim
- recovery procedure (if it was a V6 or VSim)
- online Update (if you wait more than 24 hrs with the update - get a new License key)

Online Update Video No. 3 for V6 (same procedure with VPlane):

Recovery Video No. 04:

Its worth the effort to upgrade a mini-vbar to the plane mode. You will not believe how your airplane flies after the upgrade. I tried a knife edge loop like in the demo video, the only input required was rudder after putting the plane in knife edge. In the blowing wind the airplane was so stable you would not have known there was a 15 knott wind gusting to 20, the stability was crazy good.

Give it a try and you wont look back

Chris

That's what I plan to do. It's going in an Acrowot so I can check it out with a model I know well.

I had an old 3d Cermark electric Banche arf laying around, I should not have done it however I flew in front of my house, took off in the street and then tried to land between the trees back on the street with a good cross wind. The tree reached up and caught the plane where a quick retrieval via a ladder got her back in one piece. I plan on installing this week in a new Yak 55 to really give it a test at the flying field not in front of my house! Once we get use to the new menus it should be a breeze to setup!

The autotrim will need to be explained to the old guys as its hard for them to understand how you can fly an airplane without any trims on the radio. Not having trims was normal for Heli's just not for the airplane guys who never carred about making sure all was straight and lined up, I cant tell you how many times I did a maiden for someone and the airplane needed tons of trim where we often ran out of trim travel so the auto trim thing might be the answer for these guys.

I agree - this feature isn't known by plane fliers. Anyway - even a Autotrim has no endless range - it would (as always) be a good idea to built the model with the needed precision ;-)

Think also about the buddy box system where you can give your buddy only one, two or all surfaces. We have been testing with a heli the buddy box and its sweet. Allowing students to fly without collective makes the heli training easy. Now to let my son fly my Yak this weekend without having to worry about him making it a pile of sticks!

This new airplane app for our vcontrols will be huge, its too bad the price point is high for the airplane guys where the heli guys are use to having to purchase a receiver and gyro where the aiplane guys are not.

It will be interesting to see the development of this app and cant wait to get a quad version as well.

No going back to the old ways for me.
