VControl on xxtreme 800 - Spoolup to fast

I have a bone stock (esc and Motor) logo 800.

Just switched from a ikon to the Vbar control with a Neo.

I set up the Heli using the stock settings from the VControl. Only changed a couple (expo, tail rate, etc) settings in the tail.

Just did the maiden, and when I switched it out of hold, the spool up was violent. It turned the heli 180 degrees.

What settings can I adjust to slow this down?

I have flown my 800 yesterday - and everything was ok with all stock settings.

Is it the "Initial" turns (thing of ESC) - or the Spoolup after VBar takes control?
Do you have access to the old setup?
Which value for motor off was stored there?
Which ramp limit value was stored there?

Thanks for the response, unfortunately, I do not have the VBar Settings, I came from the ikon.


Is it the "Initial" turns (thing of ESC) - or the Spoolup after VBar takes control? Hard to tell, the rotor spins about 1-2 turns, then straight to about 1,000 rpm.

Do you have access to the old setup? On the Ikon, yes.

Which value for motor off was stored there? On the ikon?

Which ramp limit value was stored there? on the ikon?

I know that the YGE has settings that are hard coded, but could any of the important ones for this have been changed? Does anyone know what they should be?

I went though the ESC and reset all parameters, it seems better.

Is there a setting in the NEo or the VControl that will slow it down further?

You can try to cheat a bit with the Ramp Limit (default 3) and set it to 2.

Ok lowered the Ramp Limit to two, but still pretty fast.

Any other things I can do?

Did you set the motor off / full throttle in the ESC new?
Have you been in the throttle setup panel (to get the stick direct to ESC) while doing this?

Hey povern.

The way I set up my YGEs is to attach a progcard. Power up the VControl and the heli. Go into the VControl setup for governor endpoints. Set the endpoints in the VControl to 90% for low endpoint and 100% for high endpoint. Stay in the endpoint menu. Now, make sure the collective stick is on the bottom stop and set the Stop endpoint in the ESC with the progcard. Move the stick to the high position stop and set the Full endpoint in the ESC with the progcard. Return the stick to low. Now change the low endpoint in the VControl to 100%. ( so both gov endpoints are now 100 ). Exit the setup menu and power down the heli and the the VControl, and remove the progcard.

This has resulted in a more acceptable spool up on any of the YGE driven helis I own using the VControl. Good luck.
