Nope, only thing plugged into the RX ports are the ID sensor.

I have tried to also connect the Current Sensor to the Battery ID sensor, (inline) but that made no difference.

If it helps, I'm also just setting up the heli for the first time, so it is not a voltage thing.

RXC - you know which i mean? NOT RX1 or RX2 ...

Please do a complete setup first (use new model wizard) and add the other stuff afterwards.

RXC? Is that different then the Spektrum satellite ports?
Re: Battery ID Reader
March 13, 2015 03:07PM
Yes - it is a "normal" servo connection port
Re: Battery ID Reader
March 13, 2015 03:32PM
I must need some kind of Specktrum Satellite connector to servo lead connector then to use the Battery ID reader..

Wow I missed that one.

Sorry, should have said in the first post, I'm using a Silverline, not a Mini Vbar.

OK - is there any other stuff connected to AUX at the SL VBar?

(Aux Signal and RX1/RX1 signal share the same pin)

OK, n this case - we just need full data of the heli and used components, a photo of all the wiring (most important) ;-)

Can you please upload this here?

Attached is a pic. I have test flown the heli after the initial set up, then I went to install the Battery ID reader. As you can see from the pic, it is not mounted on the heli, when the pulsing happens.

The Setup:
logo 600-3d
HeliJive 120
WR BEC
BLS 451 on the cyclic
BLS 251 on the tail
Vbar Silverline With VControl Satellite. Sensor is on bottom plate under vbar.
Kontronic Pyro 700-45 (although pulses still happen with this discontented).

Cant get the pic to attach. But it is just on the bench at this point, plugged into the RX1 port. It does go very close to the sensor wire, but no other wires.

Can you make a detailed picture from the servo connections on the front side ?

Is this the pic you are looking for?

Sorry, but this is post crash. I had 3 flights on the logo (without the battery ID sensor), before the belt broke.

OK, everythink looks correct on the images.

One thing - the Battery ID tries to pulse some energy to the ID chip - and e.g. it could be a hookup issue (Servo and ID Reader cables tied together?) which will have effect to the servos.

Can you route the ID cable at the bottom of the frame?

The battery ID reader isn't mounted. It is on the bench next to the heli. The only wire within 6" of the battery ID reader is the Silverline sensor (that is the one you can see in the pic).

So there are no cables tied to the Battery ID reader.

OK, and how is it going when you have a ID Tag next to the reader (simulating the battery)?

Here is a link to a video of the issue:

Video

I had the VBAr on an heli and set up, it flew great.

The twitch is only happening when the Battery ID is plugged in. It even starts before the Vbar is initialized.

You will also notice the Vcontrol is not recognizing the battery ID. At the end of the vid, it looks like the twitching stopped, but it is still twitching. Also If I hook up the three cyclic servos, they too will twitch but not as often.

Let me know what I'm doing wrong.....
Re: Battery ID Reader

Your Battery ID is connected to the wrong connector. Thats why it is not recognized. Use the other plug for the connection to the vbar.

Ok, so now it is recognized, and it read the battery tag, but the twitching is twice as fast.

The ID reader is now recognized, but the twitching is still going on.

What are my next steps?

Re: Battery ID Reader

Will the battery be recognized now?
Can you try several ID chips?

if not - this could be a reason for "Pulses" if the reader searches for the Batt ID.

Re: Battery ID Reader

Hi there,

I have just done a few tests, with Futaba BLS servos, WR BEC, VBar Control, and a Battery ID sensor.
On that mechanics there's a Castle ESC though.

But even with the sensor lying directly on the servo wires, I do not get the twitch.

I would be curious if this persists if you take the ESC out of the equation ... the Battery ID sensor will still read the ID even without the current sensor and ESC connected, just BEC, Batt ID and servos.

Kindly send me an e-mail to service (at) mikado-heli (dot) de so we can get you a replacement to check if this also happens with a different Batt ID sensor.

Best regards
