Where is the best place to mount the 05385 Airspeed/Altitude Sensor on a Logo 550?

The sensor housing should be mounted in the shade (or just let the heli get ambient temperature before turning on).

I have strapped the tube to a strut, approx. half the way to the skid.

Would this sensor help funded the helicopter if it crashed in the woods or high grass ?

Hi,

no it won't. It has no position recognition, just air pressure sensors and a thermometer.

Is there anything available that would help you find your heli?

Hi again,

as of now, no. Unless you got your hands on a 2nd hand GPS sensor.

But you could still use buzzers/beepers like back in the day, of course.

Or you could use an AirTag or Tile, I wonder how precise particularly AirTags could be, with UWB.
Most of the time you know where the model went down well enough, but you walk a meter past it without actually seeing it, when grass or crops are high.
AirTags are believed to be useful within 10-50 m, with the possibility to find lost items accurately to a couple of cm.

Kind regards
