Hi

It is possible to get more details about VControl FHSS? Frame size, Latency, Power output, Range, ... ?

I give some specs here, if you need more info, just ask the specifics.

Channels: 80
Hopping Rate: 200Hz
Frame length: 1.4ms
adaptive (LBT)/non adaptive hybrid (to fullfill the EN 300328 1.8.1)
Latency: 5ms to Update Rate (minimum 5ms, maximum 15ms)
Normal Update Rate: 10ms
Synchronization: < 500ms
Power output: +20dbm = 100mW (Tx and Rx)
Native sensitivity: -102db

Features: No update change because of telemetry/Backchannel, Dual antenna on both ends (full covearge of all polarization planes, 4 Path monitoring), Short Packets reduce probability of packet damage, fully symmetrical Communication.

We cannot give a Range measure, since it is very dependant on the Environment. But since there is no miracle in the RF Technology, ist the same as with other Radios.

So if we talk about reliability ... FASST is a etalon and that is a reason why it is preferred in large jets. Is VControl comparable in reliability to FASST? If you done this kind of test ... how much rx/tx was you able to run at same time without reliability problems?

Hi,

well, from comparative tests in the field with different brands of radios, under the same conditions (terrain, distance, time, weather, test setup) we found that all major radio systems had approximately the same range, lost packets at approximately the same range, disconnected at approximately the same range.
A significant plus for VBar Control was the quick reconnect, where some other radio systems took longer by comparison.

For example, sometimes you do not really notice radio link issues (by built in features that _should_ tell you when the radio link is weak or lost, in different radio systems), you only see that servos connected go into a hold state for a very short time, or move jerkily, indicating lost data packets and the receiver waiting for the next good data packet.
At a bigger distance, you also hardly see it in the response of the model, so you might think all is well.
VBar Control is much more transparent here, with the logging and the disconnect message.

2.4 GHz radio technology obviously has the same benefits and limitations for all systems, it's all down to physics. The design of the radio protocol makes clearly noticeable differences in some areas, and smaller but also important differences in other areas.

Environmental conditions (weather, humidity, layout of the terrain, other radio appliances in the vicinity, but also proper placement of the receiver/antennae) make a much bigger difference.

But since we do not have access to the internal data and processing of other radios, we can more or less only tell from comparative tests that VBar Control is not different when it comes to reliability, to the best of our knowledge.
