Doubts about logo 600
January 26, 2019 12:02PM
1- I have a Scorpion HKIII 4035 560kv engine, and I wanted to mount a 600 to 12S logo, would you have a problem if you mounted this engine at 12S?

2- This (http://shop.mikado-heli.de/LOGO-Helicopters/LOGO-600-SX/LOGO-600-SX.htm?shop=k_mikado_e&SessionId=&a=article&ProdNr=02120&t=7567&c=6442&p=6442) Is the Logo 600sx V2?

3- What differences exist with (http://shop.mikado-heli.de/LOGO-Helicopters/LOGO-600-SE/LOGO-600-SE-V3-kit.htm?shop=k_mikado_e&SessionId=&a=article&ProdNr=02105&t = 7567 & c = 7221 & p = 7221)

What is more interesting to mount a logo 600 to 10S or 12S? What are the differences?

Thanks for the reply, sorry for the level of English.

Hi,

1. we offer 12s with the 450 kV motor and an 11 t pinion, so you get into a sensible rpm range both for the motor and the ESC. 560 with 12s and the smallest pinion will result in way too high rpm or PWM too low, which will result in the system running hot, with the possibility of overloading the ESC at lower throttle openings.
We would not have a problem, but you possibly winking smiley

2. All current models are technically V2 (with the 2nd gen chassis, with battery quick release).

3. The SE is a stretched 600 swinging longer blades than the 600 series, but it does not sport the toughened one way bearing and tail drive like e.g. the 690 SX, so it's more the stretch limo/sports flying option. You can of course do all 3D maneuvers, but you should do it softer as not to over stress the 600 components. A lighter option than the 690 SX, and also a little smaller/sleeker, the 690 SX also has the larger canopy and the undercarriage/chassis box which comes with it.

Well, it comes to your equipment and personal liking. 12s has more punch, while—if you trade more/less cells for cells with a different capacity, so the overall weight and CoG remains the same—both have about equal flying times (always variable, though, depending on your style of flying, with the recommended head speeds and in 3D it will be considerably longer than with lower head speeds and sports flying, of course).

So, if I want to mount the 560kv motor, I'll have to mount an 11-tooth pinion, right?

I understand that the problem is that the ESC will heat up. But I would have a HW of 120A.

What RPM will I have to fly to 3D?

Hi,

560 kV and 11 t is still too much with 12s, and there is no smaller pinion possible because of technical limitations, you would get 2,500 1/min @ nominal voltage while the recommendation is 2,200 1/min.

The model will most probably do it (no guarantee, though) because there are wide safety margins, but if you dial down the ESC to get into a sensible range of rpm, it will run in rather low partial load, at least as long as the battery voltage is still high, and no matter what brand or size of ESC, this can cause it to run hot, possibly resulting in shut-downs (to protect the electronics) or even in damage (if capacitors get too hot, they will possibly balloon and fracture, and if they would leak electrolyte into the electronics, that would be it).

I'm just saying—it's always for a good reason that we recommend certain kV ratings and pinions for our models, and if you exceed the spec, you _may_ run into troubles.

Kind regards

What is the difference between the new engine (Scorpion HKIV-4035-450KV) and (Scorpion HKIII-4035-450KV).
Could I mount the new model at 12s?

https://www.scorpionsystem.com/catalog/helicopter/motors_4/hkiv-40/HKIV_4035-450/

Single strand windings, more power and efficiency. It still have both 25 and 30 mm mounting holes so no problem with mounting it on the Logo.

VControl, VBar on all.

What batteries do you recommend riding for 12S?

I see that on the web it says maximum 3,500mAh, but I see videos where people fly with 4000mAh.

By the way, I've decided and bought a 600V2 logo kit and mounted the new scorpion engine HK! V4035-450kv, I guess I will not have problems with that engine.
