Hi

Friends, which setup does Tareq use on the Vbar to heli to stand in a position without having to hold the radio ??

Hi,

do you have an example (e.g. video)?

I doubt's he's doing anything particular, I even doubt he would be using the beginner mode/hovering aid/self leveling mode of Rescue.

Recently I saw Kyle Dahl setting up a helicopter, and he was intermittently hovering the heli at some distance/altitude, nose into the wind, then just held up the radio so he could see the Touch display and make adjustments (briefly not looking at the helicopter), then continued flying.

The model more or less remains in it's position even without particular settings, wind conditions permitting.

This is definitely a _don't do this at home_ thing, but if you are confident, and if you can rely on your equipment, and if there's nothing and no-one around you can hurt, it's possible.

Kind regards

This is the "bound to the ground" special app for Tareq

Hi,

ah, something totally different smiling smiley than what I had in mind.

Now that's only the VBar NEO's gyros, if there is hardly any external influence (and even if so), the VBar will hold the attitude on all three axis until you ask it to do something else.

All you need is the b*lls to risk it grinning smiley but we don't sell those separately smoking smiley ... yet winking smiley

Fun aside, I can not tell if he's using extra high Style, Gains, I settings, you'd have to ask him.
Tbh I doubt it ...

Cheers

Hi,

I've actually done it, years ago, with a Mini VBar, at the XFC field at the AMA Site, at an IRCHA Jamboree.

Not to that extent, but doing sliding touch'n go's on tarmac works like a charm. No particular setup, just a basic LOGO 600 setup.
Looked and probably felt the same as in Tareq's video, although I did not hold up the radio to show off, just left the sticks at center.

But I guess you have to deliberately and precisely bring it into this position, then really let go. If you input whatever, the VBar will read it as requested rate or attitude changes, and move the helicopter. This might feel imprecise. If you let go, it just maintains it's attitude.

Same as for flybar -> flybarless switchers, they have to learn _not_ to control anything which they do not actually want. The constant tiny inputs hardcoded in your brain or fingers, for the swash plate, which you tend to do on a flybarred helicopter, to maintain a position for example, make a flybarless helicopter look and feel unstable and as if it wants to be all over the place. Let go, and it just stops where it is.

What definitely helps is a precise radio, if you have the slightest drifts or issues with re-centering, which are read by the VBar as inputs, it might not interfere with your usual flying, but with such shenanigans.

Kind regards
