Mac OS Catalina

Hallo,
das Mac OS gibt es ja jetzt in einer neuen Version -> Catalina, 10.15, die nur noch 64Bit unterstützt
Mir wurde gestern beim Update vom OS gesagt, das VBar Neo nicht mehr kompatibel ist.
Wann würde eine aktuelle Kompilierung denn eingestellt werden?
Oder evtl. könnte ich bestimmt auch die Windows Version über Parallels betreiben? Sollte doch als Notnagel auch klappen....

ich habe leider noch nicht die Zeit gefunden, mich mit Catalina zu beschäftigen.
Ich sitze selbst am Mac, muss 'eigentlich' nur updaten, möchte aber vorher nochmal ein komplettes Backup ziehen, für den Fall ...

Das Problem ist u. U. nicht 64 Bit, sondern die Java JRE, die nur noch in einer relativ alten Version von Apple zur Verfügung gestellt wird (bis Mojave kein Problem), und wo ich gehört habe, dass Java JRE unter Catalina nicht mehr unterstützt werden soll(te).
Da mit der Beta regelmäßig alles nicht funktioniert, was nicht Apple-zertifiziert ist, habe ich da nicht probiert.

Workaround: Oracle Virtual Box (oder andere VM), ein ausrangiertes XP oder neuer, VStabi-Software, tut. Man muss das Windows auch nicht besonders schützen oder pflegen, wenn man nur VStabi-Sachen damit macht und auf vstabi.info und/oder mikado-heli.de, PayPal zugreift, also keine Webseiten besucht, wo man sich irgendwelche virtuellen Geschlechtskrankheiten einfangen kann.

ja perfekt, ich nutze Parallels, da noch eine Softwär hab, die es nur unter Win gibt, dann werd ich das so machen, thx für die Info

I also have the same issue. VBar Control Manager 2.1 is not working with the current Mac OS Catalina, Version 10.15.1. The message reads, "To open 'VBar Control Manager 2.1.app' you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime."

I have an older version of Parallels 12.2.1 which is not running well with the new Mac OS Catalina. However, Windows OS is working well under BootCamp, so I was able to use VBar Control Manager on it to register the VBar Neo unit.

I look forward to having VBar Control Manager work well with Mac OS Catalina.

you can swallow the bitter pill and install windows in virtual machine.
Its working fine.
I did it with win7. needs 10 GB on ssd. acceptable

With a bit more testing, we could release VBar Control Manager and NEO Software for Catalina, but I'm afraid 5.3 and older will still be limited to Mojave (or a VM, on Catalina).

I hated having to do it, but I updated Parallels to version 15.1.1 (from 12.2.1). Now all working well with this virtual machine. Still, I look forward to Mikado releasing a VBar Control Manager that works natively with MacOS Catalina.

Is there any update on this? I don't have parallels or a copy of windows, I just use Mac and right now I can't program my new Neo until you fix the software

just do it they'll help you... but maybe not today as they are off for holidays i guess. but YES, the new software is just working fine on Catalina.

Hi guys,

better late than never ... the Downloads sections have been updated, the version available there now for the NEO, for the Mac, also supports macOS Catalina, and is even somewhat simpler to get it to run than the previous version. Big thanks to a customer who pointed me to a software tool I was not aware of, to create a more current container for the actual JAVA application.
