Devices

I now get this message when I try to look at my devices:

Mails from us to this providers were probably blocked by unknown reason: hotmail.com, att.net, outlook.com, sbcglobal.net, icloud.com, mac.com, ig.com.br, kenyon.im, a1.net, me.com, mail.ru, neuf.fr
Please change your Mikado ID to another email provider in the Mikado Shop www.mikado-heli.de (European shop) and re-login here otherwise download requests etc. may not work!

I do not have another email address. How Can I fix this?

Kind regards,
Ian

Hi Ian,

nae worries.

With changing the e-mail-address, it's like that:

. log out from vstabi.info
. log in to shop.mikado-heli.de
. change
. log in to vstabi.info again with your new e-mail-address
. this should normally drag all registered devices with it, automatically

Sometimes, this doesn't work as expected, or for legacy devices, but then we can help, or (if only a few devices, or if it's urgent) just re-register.
Registrations are never lost, the units are just still stuck on the old address.

Kind regards

Hi Eddi,

Thank you for your explanation.
It appears I reacted too quickly to the message to change email address as for about 30 minutes I was not able to see my devices.
My btinternet email seems to work ok now and downloads seem to work too.

Sorry for creating confusion unnecessarily.

Kind regards,

Hi Ian (and co-readers),

a little anecdote from my side (I'm trying to avoid the big G's services also, the one data kraken I know is enough for me :D):

With .me com (iCloud.com), at one point, I didn't receive e-mail any more. Not on my computer, phone, iCloud.com in a browser, nowhere.
Experimenting, I found that if I set up a rule in iCloud.com in the browser, to directly move e-mail from mikado-heli.de and vstabi.info to a separate folder, it worked.
So somehow case proven, Apple seemed to filter that e-mail directly into digital nirvana unless it was told not-to. Some artificial intelligence (debatable ...) or whatever.
Every so often I disabled that rule to see if it was still necessary, and at one point, I started to receive e-mail again without it. Yeehaw!
As of lately, it's mixed experience again, sometimes it works, sometimes those mails get filtered into Spam/Junk, but they are still there.

We noticed similar behavior with i.a. Microsoft based services, outlook.com, hotmail, live and others, this is why the notification is there, because with those, we can not guarantee that you receive our e-mail, and why we suggest trying a different e-mail-address.

In Germany, there are a couple of e-mail service providers who, for a small fee, like one EUR a month, offer independent no-nonsense e-mail accounts, and without ads on their web interface, and with all the bells and whistles, also when it comes to current security protocols etc.
I guess—I hope—that there are such service providers in other countries, too, and those are what I would recommend if you wouldn't want to be with one of the big companies, or if you wouldn't want to not-be-able-to find the login button because of all the ads and other nonsense.

This is where I have a non-public e-mail-address which is required for 2FA for iCloud, for example, and which—if ever used directly—has a catch-all forwarding to my day-to-day-iCloud address.

It's not that we want you to move to gmail or other providers, it's just that we know that some seem to be filtering randomly, haphazardly, and that 'vital' e-mail like confirmation e-mails for downloads. It's also fine if you want to stay with hotmail, also having the same address for 20 years is something, it's just that with some providers we can not guarantee delivery :-/ even though all technical requirements are met (and checked and if necessary updated every so often).

We tried already several times at several providers to get whitelisted to send them email. Unfortunately we are out of options here. All technical settings are super accurate and exactly as their guides require, but since email rejection at some providers nowadays is AI, even themselfs cannot say why emails are rejected and why others are not. Luckily the vast majority of providers work fine.

Sorry Rainer - but this is not a "good advice" ;)

Many users - including me - don't "like" a gmail address - for reasons..

Millions of Apple Users around the globe rely on their icloud.com (mac.com) address- as they served them well for 20+ years ..

So maybe you try to fix the problem on the "mikado-side"? :)-D
